High Grade Gold Intersection at Glandore South Project
The company is pleased to announce that its joint venture partner South Kal Mines Pty Ltd (SKM), which is a subsidiary of Harmony, has returned significant gold mineralization from an aircore and diamond drilling program on the Glandore South Project. The Glandore South Project, which is located approximately 40km to the east of Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, is subject to a joint venture whereby SKM are earning 80% interest in the project from Solomon (Australia) Pty Ltd.

The 11 Prospecting Licences that comprise the Glandore South Project, are situated at extreme northwest corner of Solomon’s Kalgoorlie Southeast Project (KSE) tenements and cover an area of approximately 17 km2 and overly the Glandore mafic succession of the western limb of the Bulong Anticline. Exploration by SKM was directed at prospective structures interpreted from detailed regional magnetics. The generated target areas are entirely masked by salt lake cover and had not been subjected to any previous drilling. SKM has completed a program of aircore and follow-up diamond drilling to provide an initial test of the target areas. Highlights from these drilling programs are described below.

Aircore Drilling
Aircore drilling has defined an open-ended, +1 g/t Au in aircore anomaly over 650m of strike. Better results from drilling include.
  • 2m @ 4.3 g/t Au from 48m in 05GDAC063 and 2m @ 3.3 g/t Au from 28m in 05GDAC048 associated with variably quartz veined, strongly sheared, chlorite-pyrite altered gabbro.
  • 6m @ 1.3 g/t from 26m in 05GDAC066 associated with a moderately foliated, hematite altered granite.
  • 2m @ 11.7g/t Au from 32m in 05GDAC064 associated with transported palaeochannel sands.

Diamond Drilling
Diamond drilling undertaken to test the corridor of +1g/t Au mineralization outlined in the aircore drilling has returned the following significant results.
Hole 05GDDD003;
3m @ 3.3 g/t Au from 51m
6m @ 29.8 g/t Au from 87m
including 1m @ 160 g/t Au from 87m

Mineralisation in 05GDDD003 is hosted by veined, felsic quartz porphyry intruding granite. The mineralisation is evident as coarse free gold predominantly within the quartz veins. This mineralisation is accompanied by a pervasive alteration assemblage, including hematite, carbonate, and pyrite with minor arsenopyrite, chlorite and silica.

Table of Results
A total of 78 aircore holes (04GDAC001 – 41, 05GDAC042 – 078) for 3,204m and four diamond holes (05GDDD 001 – 004) for 652.80m have been drilled to date. Significant results from drilling are tabulated below.

*All aircore intercepts refer to down hole widths and the mean grade has been calculated on a 1.0 g/t Au lower cut-off grade, with no upper cut applied. 1m minimum intercept and 2m maximum internal waste. 2m composite samples were analyzed using by fire assay (FA/30). All diamond core with characteristics suggesting mineralization was sampled at 1m intervals and assayed using screen fire assay, all other core was sampled either as 1m samples or as 2m composite samples and analyzed by fire assay (FA/30).

Proposed Exploration Program
SKM has advised the company that aircore and diamond drilling is scheduled to recommence at the Glandore South Project in early April, subject to rig availability.

The drilling program is proposed to achieve two goals.
1. follow-up of significant mineralization in 05GDDD003 (6m @ 29.8 g/t Au),
2. test favorable geology within the Glandore South Project to locate the granite-gabbro contact and potentially mineralized felsic quartz porphyry intrusives.
The proposed drilling program is anticipated to take approximately seven weeks to complete.
